Privacy Policy

    Last updated: January 15, 2026

This policy covers the Poly Mic app. For the website policy, see the website Privacy Policy.

Thank you for using Sinamei LLC (hereinafter – "Sinamei", "we", "us", or "our") products. Before using our products, please read this Privacy Policy, which explains how we protect your data and respect user privacy.

The data controller is the limited liability company Sinamei, registration number: 40203318207, legal address: Gaujas iela 7 – 4, Grundzāle, Grundzāles pag., Smiltenes nov., LV-4713.

This Privacy Policy describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you:

    • Use Poly Mic. Poly Mic is a collaborative audio recording app for musicians and bands. The app allows multiple iPhones to connect over a local network, enabling each device to capture audio from different instruments or positions simultaneously. Each device records its own track locally — there is no live sync stream during the session. Once recording stops, the connected devices exchange files and Poly Mic aligns every track post-hoc, so each participant ends up with a complete copy of the session. The app does not require an internet connection to function — all device communication happens peer-to-peer over the local network.
    • Engage with us in other related ways, including any marketing or events.

Sinamei processes user data to provide Services. Sinamei needs the data to maintain the platform, provide services, keep users informed of changes and upgrades, and offer users all the latest products and services for marketing purposes.

Accepting our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy confirms that the user has read and understood Sinamei rules. However, regardless of its content, Sinamei is not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of users or third-party sites and applications.

Sinamei Privacy Policy contains information about collecting personal data and other information of users and the manner of its processing. We respect the right to privacy of our users and take reasonable steps for them to be familiar with how the information rendered accessible via the Poly Mic and its applications is processed. Due to the implementation of comprehensive security regulations, personal data provided by our Services and applications are of the highest security standards.

Sinamei is a Latvian company, and as such, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Latvian Personal Data Processing Law, ensuring that all personal data received from European Union (EU) member countries, European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and any other non-EU countries are processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Our Services are intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a person under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it. Users between the ages of 13 and 18 may use the Services with the consent of their parent or legal guardian.

    4. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?

In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following categories of third parties.

Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents ("third parties") who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place with our third parties, which are designed to help safeguard your personal information.

The categories of third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:

    • Data Analytics Services
    • Performance Monitoring Tools
    • Payment Processors
    • User Account Registration & Authentication Services

Peer-to-Peer Sharing. When you use Poly Mic's collaborative recording features, certain information is shared directly between connected devices on the same local network. This includes:

    • Your display name and avatar (as configured in the app)
    • Device information (device model, app version)
    • Audio recordings created during collaborative sessions
    • Session metadata (track names, recording timestamps)

This peer-to-peer sharing occurs directly between devices and does not pass through our servers. You control when to connect with other devices and can disconnect at any time. We also may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

    • Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
    • Affiliates. We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.
    • Business Partners. We may share your information with our business partners to offer you certain products, services, or promotions.

    5. How Do We Handle Your Audio Recordings?

In Short: Audio recordings are stored locally on your device and shared only with devices you explicitly connect to during recording sessions.

Poly Mic's core functionality involves recording audio through your device's microphone. Here is how we handle your audio recordings:

Local Storage. All audio recordings are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your audio recordings to our servers unless you explicitly choose to use cloud backup features (if available).

Peer-to-Peer File Exchange. Each device records its own track locally during a session — there is no live streaming of audio between devices. When a recording session ends, the connected devices exchange the recorded files directly with one another (peer-to-peer) over the same local network, and Poly Mic aligns the tracks so every participant receives a complete copy. This exchange happens directly between devices and does not pass through our servers. When you connect to other devices:

    • Your recordings are shared with all connected devices in the session.
    • You receive recordings from other connected devices.
    • All participants in a session have access to all recordings made during that session.

Content of Recordings. We do not access, listen to, or analyze the content of your audio recordings. The recordings may contain voices, music, conversations, or any other audio captured by your device's microphone during recording sessions.

Your Control. You maintain full control over your recordings. You can:

    • Delete recordings from your device at any time
    • Choose when to connect to other devices and share recordings
    • Disconnect from sessions to stop sharing

Third-Party Access. We do not sell, license, or provide access to your audio recordings to any third parties for their own purposes.

    6. Is Your Information Transferred Internationally?

In Short: We may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own.

Personal data is processed and stored using Google Cloud Firestore in the "eur3" multi-region, which consists of multiple data center locations within the European Union, including Belgium, the Netherlands, and Finland. Data is replicated across these locations to ensure availability, integrity, and resilience in accordance with applicable data protection requirements. We will take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

    7. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Audio Recordings. Audio recordings stored locally on your device remain there until you delete them. We do not have access to or control over locally stored recordings. If you use any cloud features, recordings stored in the cloud will be retained according to your account settings and can be deleted at your request.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the contact details provided in the section "How can you contact us about this policy?" below.

Opting out of marketing and promotional communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send, or by contacting us. You will then be removed from the marketing lists.

    9. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.
